The Garmin Connect End of year summary is currently available, and updating daily. The stats are quite interesting,

Despite cycling as much as I did Garmin says that I took 3.8 million steps this year and that in March I took 486,000 steps. That’s when I was hiking a lot.

Activities

I logged 457 activities, of which 233 walking, 154 cycling and 36 running. I logged 741h and 58 minutes of sports. According to the app I travelled 8919km which is cycling to Paris from London 18 times. The biggest bike ride was 148 kilometres and the month where I travelled furthest was 1691.8km.

Ascending

In theory I ascended 117,000 metres. This combines cycling and hiking activities. On many rides I climbed from 800-1000m but on one ride we did 2119m of climbing. In one month I did 20,000 meters of climbing.

Energy Use

I burned a quarter of a million calories through hiking, cycling, running, and walking, I earned 130 Garmin Connect badges in that time.

And Finally

It’s the fourth of December. I still expect to be active for the next three weeks. I noticed that it updates after a new workout is added. This seems to be a new feature. Garmin Connect did not have this. I like having the year summarised like this. It shows that I was most active in March and August. March was about hiking, and August was about cycling. In August I went on up to five group rides a week.

It’s nice to have such end of summaries. We will see if 2026 is as active. It could be more active.
