A Run Recommended by Strava

When you drive to a place you don’t have a place for it. That’s why it’s good to use sites to find recommendations. Usually I like to explore routing opportunities with Komoot, to look at routes, what they offer as sites and sounds, and how long the route is.

Last night and this morning I let another site decide. I told Strava that I was going to start from one point, and I looked at what it recommended. I then drove to the start, and ran the route. In the process I found that the route it recommended was not as intuitive as I thought.

Three percent of people in Europe use maps on their mobile phone

According to the report, the majority of users – 73% in the United States and 57% in Europe – accessed mobile maps via the handset’s browser. Less than a third of customers in these markets used a downloaded application.

Source In a town like Lausanne it would make sense to use google maps paired with the phone’s gps because there’s municipal wifi you don’t need to agree to for use. As a result it’d be much faster simply to load the appplication. With time and as dat costs go down the trend of using Nokia’s in built maps will evolve…

Map Your Friends - Facebook Api

As I was looking through the applications I found an application that helps to map your friends according to the geolocation details they added to their profile. As your social network is more global so you will find that your friends are more spread around the world. As you’ll see for me there’s a lot of clustering around London where most of the people I know on Facebook are living.
