“I don’t need to go for a one and a half hour walk. I said that to a neighbour before my walk. I could have cut it short, if it started to rain too heavily. Paradoxically for most of the walk it was grey and drizzling. Nothing to worry about. I was almost dry for almost the entire walk.
It’s as I walked the last one and a half kilometres that it started to rain heavily.
Fields
These are not ducks in a row. Tidy crops
Caution Bees
I could have been closer to take a picture but I don’t want to run the risk of taunting Melissa, the bee, from Greek Mythology. I don’t like walking this close to hives.
You see plenty of little flecks flying around and you know that’s you’re going to cross their flight path. None of them showed an interest in me luckily. I don’t remember seeing them there before.
The weather was cold and cloudy this lunchtime so going up to the mountains for lunch was feasible. If the restaurant had been filled with people, and if we had shared a table with others, then I would have skipped and driven home. Luckily the road was closed to go up to the mountains so that stopped some people from going up. There were also the benefits of clouds and cold air temperatures.
I walked to the Chateau De Bossey today. It’s an easy walk from one village to another and another after that.
A dirt road part of the walk.
A view of the Salève
A view of a field, the lakes with boats and the Alps in the background.
A penguin feeding a chick.
I would never expect to see a penguin feeding a chick in the middle of Switzerland in the middle of summer in Switzerland but I did. It’s just a wooden statue but that doesn’t make it any less unexpected. At first I thought it was just a block of wood to block people from taking a parking spot.
Two new books from the lending library.
Rolls of Hay wrapped in plastic
Recently we have had droughts so hay has not grown much. This year we have had plenty of rain. This means that hay and grass has had a good growing season. This in turn means that there will be plenty of feed for cows.
Hay Bales in Switzerland, with the Alps in the background.
Maybe yesterday’s bison can eat it.
Cows resting beneath pine trees.
A Swiss rural scene in Switzerland.
Do you feel like you are being watched. Imagine loving south of a field of sunflowers.
