They announced that it could rain all day, every day, for almost the entire week.

Weather

They announce that it will rain ‘tomorrow’ except that tomorrow is either sunny or overcast but the rain fails to materialise. Today it did show up as a serious downpour for a few minutes and then it stopped. I would have been soaked, but with clothes that dry quickly it would be uncomfortable for a short time.

Contours

Aside from the rain there are contours to think about. Either you ride uphill before you have time to warm up, or you ride downhill and then uphill again. With all the climbing I have done this month I am not so worried about more uphill cycling.

Rush Hour

Through riding with groups I have found that riding either earlier in the day, or later in the day, is a good way of avoiding rush hour traffic. If I had set off for a bike ride, instead of writing this, then I would have hit rush hour traffic.

Other Plans

I had planned to ride after going to the shops this morning but I was lazy about going to the shops and I had planned to do for something for lunch, which was cancelled.

I could ride now, instead of writing this blog post but within an hour it could rain. Tomorrow, so far, the weather should be better, and I have no plans until later in the afternoon so I could have a good amount of time for a bike ride.

And Finally

Saturday I went for a bike ride, optimistic that the rain would arrive later than it did. I rode home in heavy rain. I was soaked. I could have continued but I preferred to get home, to avoid short circuiting a phone that I thought was not weather proof.

Fresh for Tomorrow

By not riding this afternoon, and by waiting for tomorrow morning I give myself the opportunity to try a ride that is more interesting. Sometimes the "lazy" day opens doors.

Reading Time: 2 minutesWhen I decided to flee the noise pollution of Paléo to stay somewhere different for a few days I was filled wiith cycling projects, but because of the weather forecast I mothballed them.
