I took the time for a three pass shave with a DE blade, and then I browsed content. Eventually, at a reasonable time I opened the Kindle app on my phone to see how the choice of books has changed since the last time I looked. The result is that I found a new series of books to read.

I settled on [The Complete McGann Naval Adventures](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/204898694-the-complete-mcgann-naval-adventures-books-1-6-six-thrilling-historical). It was 2300 or midnight when I started to read and by the time I stopped reading it was beyond three in the morning. For some reason I was not tired.

Usually when I read I begin to feel tired so I stop within ten to fifteen minutes. Last night was different. I read for three hours.

This is not a book that I bought. This is a Kindle Unlimited book that I can read “for free”. Of course no book is free. I just subscribe in such a way as to have a vast choice of books to read.

The advantage of Kindle Unlimited is that you can treat your Kindle as a library. You can “borrow” books rather than buying them. If you don’t enjoy a book, or if you stop reading you can return it. This allows you to keep control of your backlog. It allows you to explore books, without buying too many that will remain unread.

I enjoy being able to borrow a book series, rather than individual books with ease. I also find it interesting that it is now possible to mark your progress when reading a series of books, rather than just individual books.

When you read a book series it is hard to determine progress for Goodreads and other apps. Now that they take book collections into account book tracking is practical.

## And Finally

In recent weeks I have not been looking for books on Audible or Amazon Kindle. I need to spend time getting through the books I already have. I recently finished Centennial by Michener. I read it every day for weeks. Now I have another big read to get through.

Reading Time: 2 minutesLast night I went to bed at a reasonable time.
