Alice Main and Robert Stewart The Producer Book http://www.scripps.ohiou.edu/producer/thebook/index.htm

Probably the best book in this list is free and on the internet.
Well written and constantly updated.
It covers mainly US local television. But considering that the US media scene influences the rest of the world, a must for the international broadcaster.

If you need to deal with copyright matters - and practically everybody does - this book is a good beginning.
It's maily useful for the USA - but if you need an introduction to the subject, the USA is as good as any place, considering how international the broadcasting scene is.

It covers everything a producer or manager needs to know about copyrights - including braodcast, cable, film, multimedia, satellite, internet and the the web.

About the author: Arnold P. Lutzker is a partner in the Washington, DC law firm of Fish and Richardson, practicing copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and entertainment law.

Yes, it does cover the internet as well. Probably the best way to learn how to write for the internet, is just to surf and use the abundant free advice, available all over the place, on how to author for this specific medium.

This is just a selection of books on the subject.

You are welcome to submit additional titles to be included in this list. A short writeup, which could help the reader in the choice, would be welcome.

Auteur Titre Maison d'edition ISBN Remarques
Jean-Noël Jeanneney Une histoire des médias
des origines à nous jours (1996)
Seuil 9 782020 348416

A lire.
